Teaneck, NJ - The Wagner College softball team erupted for 10 runs on 19 hits to earn a 10-5 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
In the first game of the afternoon, the Seahawks fell by a score of 9-0.
With the series split against the Knights, the Seahawks are now 11-15 on the season and 7-15 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play.

In a wire-to-wire victory, the Seahawks started fast, as freshman
Keaghan Ward and junior
Makenzie Miller gave Wagner a 2-0 lead in the first inning with consecutive RBI singles.
Miller continued her strong day at the plate with a two-run double in the third, before junior
Natalie Del Ponte hit her third home run in two days in the fifth to put the Seahawks up 5-0.
The Knights got on the board with two runs in the fifth inning, before an RBI single by graduate student
Zoe Bender extended the lead to 6-2 in the sixth.
Leading 6-3 heading into the seventh, the Seahawks tacked on four more runs on an RBI single by Miller, a two-run single by junior
Mackenzie Vogler, and an RBI single by sophomore
Bianca Worthy.
FDU added two runs in the bottom half of the inning, but it wasn't enough, as the Seahawks came away with the victory.

Kayla Hooks earned her first victory of the season after going the distance, striking out five batters in the process.
Offensively, Miller led the Seahawks with four RBIs, while Bender led the way with four hits, giving her 146 for her career.
All nine starters for the Seahawks recorded at least one hit throughout the contest, with Worthy and Miller contributing three hits apiece.

FDU's Madison Emerson homered twice, as the Knights earned the victory in five innings.
Worthy led the Seahawks with two hits, while Del Ponte and junior
Penelope Russ also recorded base hits throughout the contest.

FDU scored two runs in the first, three in the third one in the fourth, and three in the fifth to secure the win.
The Seahawks will return to the action on Thursday, when they will take on Sacred Heart for a doubleheader, starting at 2:00 pm.
