Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday evening from Hameline Field.
For Wagner, who falls to 0-2, tonight was their conference and home opener. The Knights improve to 2-1-0 and 2-0 in league contests.
The Knights had a chance early on in the contest for the game's first goal, but, Wagner goalkeeper was able to deny Lea Egner's shot in the fifth minute.
A minute later, Isabelle Udovc launched the ball in that found the foot of Viktorija Miseljic, who in turn crossed it to the middle of the box where Naemi Hausen was able to put one past the outstretch arms of Kelly, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
FDU nearly went up 2-0 in the 64', but Kelly was able to turn the shot away.
The Seahawks kept it a one-goal deficit until the 69th minute when the Knights earned a second free kick and converted Hausen found Madelyn Robbins, who fired one towards the left corner of the net as FDU went ahead 2-0.
Wagner had a chance in the 70th as
Madison Bennert was able to find some space and send a shot on goal but was denied by the Knights' keeper, Cassandra Marcoux.
Fairleigh Dickinson tacked on two more scores in a three-minute span that upped the lead to 4-0.
