South Orange, NJ – The Wagner College women's tennis team put forth a valiant effort this afternoon against Big East member, Seton Hall, before dropping a 4-2 decision to the Pirates on Thursday afternoon at the Campus Courts at Ivy Hill Park.
The Seahawks fall to 0-3 on the season while the Pirates pick up its first victory of the season (1-3).

Seeing the way our freshmen (Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin) played today, they showed true grit and fought for every point. They (Tara and Gabrielle) have been key cogs in our lineup this season and excited for their development."
In doubles, Dakic teamed with
Fidan Khalilzade in No. 2 doubles. They took on the pairing of Aina Plana Ventosa and Hiba El Khalifi. Dakic and Khalilzade rallied at stages of the match before falling 6-3.
Perraudin earned a 7-6 (5) 6-2 triumph at No. 4 singles over Emily O'Donovan while
Mia Groetsch, won by default at No. 6 singles. The Pirates earned victories at No. 1, 2 and 5 singles to secure the overall win.
Wagner will return to the courts on Sunday, March 28, as they will take on Monmouth in Little Silver, NJ.
