Men's Tennis Falls At NJIT

Newark, NJ – The Wagner College men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision on Saturday afternoon to the NJIT Highlanders at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
 
The Seahawks fall to 0-2 on the season while the Highlanders remain perfect at 5-0.
 
NJIT swept through the two doubles matches. The pairing of Odeda Arazza and Seong Gillespie took one point in the doubles match against the tandem of Ammar Fekry and Ashwin Kanetkar, who went on to pick up a 6-1 victory. 
 
NJIT claimed the win after sweeping all four singles matches. 
 
Wagner's Aryan Gupta, who took on Samuel Townes at No. 1, put forth a valiant effort before being bested, 6-2; 6-2.
 
Rodrigo Perez took one point in set two in his match at No. 2 singles against Kanetkar before falling, 6-0, 6-1. 
 
Arazza gave Fekry a run at No. 3 singles before the freshman was outlasted, 6-2; 6-1.
 
Wagner hits the road on Friday, March 26 as they take on Temple in Philadelphia, PA. 
 
The match is set to start at noon.
