Women's Bowling Finishes Play At NEC#2 Against Duquesne On Sunday Morning

North Brunswick, NJ - The Wagner College women's bowling team finished the last day of competition at the second Northeast Conference (NEC) meet against Duquesne at Bowlero Lanes in North Brunswick, NJ on Sunday morning.

Opening Statement:
  • "We need to keep learning lane and ball adjustments. I am confident that will come over time and with more experience. For this group to be competing as well as they have in just three weeks of competition is extremely remarkable to see." 
On NEC Bowling:
  • "The NEC is an extremely competitive bowling conference. There are no easy matches on the schedule on any weekend. Now that we have seen the league, we will use this experience as building blocks to where we want to be in the future." 
 
Traditional Match: Wagner 769, Duquesne 962
 
Baker (Five Game) Total Pinfall: Wagner 731, Duquesne 963
  • The Seahawks kept it close in the first game of the five-game baker, as Duquesne took a 40-pin advantage. 
  • The Dukes were able to increase its lead in the second game before Wagner claimed a 194-168 triumph in the third match. 
  • Duquesne went on to shoot 394-256 over the final two games in taking the win. 
 
Baker Best of Seven Match: Wagner 1, Duquesne 4
  • In the final match of NEC #2 in the best-of-seven baker match, Duquesne was victorious in the first three matches.
  • Wagner was able to avoid being swept, earning a 210-197 triumph in the fourth game before Duquesne wrapped up the victory in game five. 
 
Baker Averages:
  • Medvetz recorded a team-leading 17.6 baker average followed by Terrano (14.89), and Victoria Shaw (14.85). 
 
Up Next: 
  • Wagner is scheduled to bowl at the Northeast Roundup, hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson. 
  • The one-day event will feature the Seahawks, the host Knights, Sacred Heart, and former NEC member, Monmouth University.
