Women's Bowling Concludes Day Two of NEC #2 Against Sacred Heart

North Brunswick, NJ - The Wagner College women's bowling team concluded the second day of competition against Sacred Heart at the second Northeast Conference (NEC) meet at Bowlero Lanes in North Brunswick, NJ on Saturday.

  • "The girls continue to fight and make the strides each and every time we step out onto the lanes. We had chance there in the best-of-seven. A pin here, pin there, and the results could be different. I am tremendously proud of the effort our team has put forth each and every competition. We will make the corrections and finish out the weekend against Duquesne tomorrow."  
Traditional Match: Wagner 822, Sacred Heart 1,012 Baker (Five Game) Total Pinfall: Wagner 757, Sacred Heart 981
  • Wagner couldn't halt the Pioneers momentum, as Sacred Heart fired three straight 200 games (237, 212, 208) in building its lead.
  • The Seahawks bested Sacred Heart in the final game, 154-129. 
Baker Best of Seven Match: Wagner 1, Sacred Heart 4
  • The Green & White took the first game of the best-of-seven series, 200-181. 
  • Sacred Heart evened the score with a 199-165 win in the second game. 
  • In a highly competitive third game, the Seahawks and Pioneers went back-and-forth throughout the entire match but the Pioneers were able to knock down one additional pin in taking a 168-167 victory and going up 2-1 in the series. 
  • After the Pioneers claimed the fourth game, Wagner continued to mount a comeback in the fifth game. The Seahawks were able to give all the had but fell 203-193. and 200-154 in game five.
Baker Averages:
  • Medvetz led the way with a 17.6 average, followed by Miranda at 17.4
  • Amanda Burdett wound up with a 17.0 average while Terrano recorded a 15.5 and Victoria Shaw notched a 15.4 average.

  • The Seahawks close out play at NEC #2 on Sunday morning against Duquesne.
