Women's Bowling Wraps Up Play At NEC Meet #1 Against LIU On Sunday

Mount Joy, PA – The Wagner College women's bowling team concluded its first Northeast Conference (NEC) Meet on Sunday morning against the LIU Sharks at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy, PA.

Opening Statement
  • "Today's was another example of how competitive the NEC teams are... We battled and remained close throughout each match... I'm proud of the way our team has competed so far... We will work on things in practice and get ready for the second NEC Meet this upcoming weekend." 
Traditional Match: Wagner 903, LIU 955
  • Jessica Fetik led the way for the Seahawks in the opening match against the Sharks, rolling a team-high 204. 
  • Anelise Terrano upped her total from yesterday's match against No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson, finishing with 190. 
  • Amanda Medvetz (185) and Totiana Miranda (178) rounded out the high scores for Wagner.  
Baker (Five Game) Total Pinfall: Wagner 829, LIU 920
  • Wagner trailed by just 14 pins (162-148) after game one. 
  • The Seahawks kept things close in game two as well, with the Sharks rolling their way to a 194-181 win.
  • LIU followed with another victory in game three, 224-158.
  • In the fourth game, Wagner cut the deficit a bit, rolling 166 to LIU's 141. 
  • In the final game, the Green & White came within 23 pins of the Sharks, falling 199-176 as LIU claimed the match.  
Baker Best-of-Seven Match: Wagner 1, LIU 4
  • Wagner jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage in the best-of-seven series. The Seahawks shot 204 while LIU finished at 189.
  • The Seahawks nearly took a 2-0 lead in the series, but LIU pulled out a five-pin win (200-195), tying the series at 1-1. 
  • The two schools battled back-and-forth yet again throughout the third game. However, the Sharks were able to break the tie, going up 2-1 with a 192-182 win. 
  • Wagner couldn't mount a comeback in games four and five, as LIU shot 234 and 203, respectively, to close out the series.
