Women's Bowling Concludes NEC#1 On Sunday

North Brunswick, NJ – The Wagner College women's bowling team concluded play at the first Northeast Conference (NEC) meet of the season, contested at Bowlero Lanes on Sunday.

"Overall, we competed well. We are still a young team. Today, we were able to take a game from a perennial league champion, FDU, while also taking a top-ranked Duquesne team to six games. We will continue to work hard this week in practice as we get set for the Felician Invitational next weekend."
 
Wagner 0 vs. Mount St. Mary's 4
  • Day two of NEC #1 commenced against the Mountaineers.
  • The Seahawks dropped the opening game by a slim 26 pin margin.
  • The Mountaineers rolled off three straight games of over 220 to secure the win. 
     
Wagner 1 vs. Fairleigh Dickinson University 4
  • The Knights came out with three straight games of 226, 229, 210 in jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the overall match.
  • The Seahawks rallied back in the fourth game, posting a 192-144, for their first win of the day.
  • In game five, the Green & White made it close, but the Knights were able to hang on for the 186-174 win. 
Wagner 2 vs. Duquesne 4
  • In the final conference match of the day, Wagner was pitted against Duquesne.
  • The Seahawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead, posting a 165-156 win in game one.
  • The Dukes evened the match at 1-1 after finished the second game with a score of 224 to Wagner's 179.
  • Wagner reclaimed the lead in the match, edging Duquesne by six, 187-181.
  • In the fourth game, the Dukes were tied the match at 2-2, as they outshot the Seahawks, 205-171.
  • Wagner continued to battle throughout the match, as they were within striking distance of, but Duquesne was able to hold on for the 178-154 win in game five.
  • The final game was up for grabs as both teams went back-and-forth but it was the Dukes who held on for the 13-pin victory, 211-198.
