North Brunswick, NJ – The Wagner College women's bowling team competed in its first Northeast Conference (NEC) meet of the 2021-22 season, as the Seahawks completed the first day of conference action at Bowlero Lanes on Saturday afternoon.

"I thought we competed well after the Sacred Heart match. We are still a young program and every meet is another learning experience. The NEC is a very, very good conference. We learned a lot about our team today. Tomorrow, we have three more top-ranked teams that we will compete against."
Wagner 0 vs. Sacred Heart 4
- The Seahawks opened up NEC play against the Pioneers, who finished the 2020-21 season No. 8 in the country in RPI.
- Wagner dropped the opening match by only 15 pins, 157-142, and 17 in the second match, 170-153.
- The Pioneers took the third match by 40 pins before rolling a 232 in the final match to secure the victory.
Wagner 3.5 vs. St. Francis Brooklyn 4.5
- The closest match of the day came against the Terriers.
- In game one, both squads rolled an identical 134, splitting the first game.
- The Seahawks took game two by ten pins, 143-133, taking a 1.5-0.5 lead.
- St. Francis Brooklyn seized the momentum, taking the next three games, going ahead 3.5-1.5.
- Wagner shot its first 200-game, rolling a 237 in defeating the Terriers, 237-126 in game six and picking up a 162-134 victory in game seven, forcing a tiebreaker.
- In the tiebreaker, St. Francis Brooklyn was able to edge out Wagner, 72-68, for the win.
"Being down 1.5-3.5 at St. Francis Brooklyn shows us we can overcome adversity, at any point of a match. Even though we couldn't complete the comeback, our girls showed that they are determined and will preserve throughout any adversity they encounter."
Wagner 1 vs. Saint Francis U 4
- The Seahawks carried the momentum of the Terriers matchup with them against the Saint Francis U Red Flash.
- The Green & White secured the win in the first game, 190-150.
- The Red Flash was able to withstand the early deficit, taking the next four matches for the win.
Wagner 1 vs. LIU 4
- In the final match of day one of NEC #1, the Seahawks were pitted against the LIU Sharks.
- Wagner was able to jump out to an early 1-0 advantage, after securing a 167-142 victory in the first game.
- The next two games were back-and-forth contest, but, the Sharks were able to secure a nine-pin win in game two (165-156) and a 20-pin triumph in game three (165-145).
- LIU went secured the victory with a 164-155 in game four and a 193-161 triumph in game five.
