Women's Bowling Collects Two Wins On First Day Of CSU Lady Eagles Invitational

Baltimore, MD – The Wagner College women's bowling team closed out the first day of the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational with two straight wins to finish the day seventh overall in the ten-team field.
 
Competing in five traditional matches on the day, the Seahawks totaled 4,029 pins while averaging 161.2 per game.
 
Kutztown University sits in first-place after day one, as the Bears went 4-1 with a total pinfall of 4,435. Morgan State, Caldwell, the host Coppin State and Howard rounded out the top-five programs competing.
 
Sophomore co-captain Amanda Medvetz rolled the lone 200 game for the Green & White.
  
Wagner 790, Caldwell 815
  • The Seahawks saw a familiar opponent in Caldwell to start the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational.
  • Newcomer America Carhart led the way for Wagner, rolling a 186. Totiana Miranda finished with a 171 while Kristina Colon fired off a 163.
 
Wagner 832, Morgan State 860
  • In the second game of the two-day invitational, the Seahawks were pitted against Morgan State.
  • Miranda and Carhart carried their strong start into this match, as Miranda wound up shooting a 193 while Carhart was next at 181.
 
Wagner 754, Kutztown 917
  • The Green & White next squared off against the Bears.
  • Colon would pace the team against Kutztown, finishing off with a 189.
 
Wagner 803, Howard 763
  • Wagner would secure its first victory of the weekend against Howard.
  • The co-captains of Miranda and Medvetz led the Green & White, as they posted scores of 192 and 184, respectively.
  • The Seahawks sealed the win by closing out the tenth and final frame in picking up the 40-pin win.
 
Wagner 850, Bloomfield 844
  • In a back-and-forth contest, Wagner edged out the six-pin victory by closing out the 10th frame for the second straight match.
  • Three Seahawks rolled a 170 or higher, powered by Medvetz, who rolled the first 200 game of the weekend for Wagner.
  • Carhart was three pins off that pace, wrapping up the day with a 197 while Colon finished at 174.
