Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season At Fordham On Saturday Morning

Bronx, NY – The Wagner College women's tennis team opens its fall slate on Saturday morning as the Seahawks will make the short trek to the Bronx to tangle with the Fordham University Rams.
 
About Wagner...
  • Scott Paz begins his first season at the helm of the Green & White after completing an accomplished collegiate tennis career at Irvine Valley College and Eastern Washington University.
  • The 2021-22 Seahawks are composed of five upperclassmen, highlighted by three seniors and a graduate student.
  • Gabrielle Perraudin was named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie Team last season. The Paris, Francis native became the third student-athlete in program history to earn all-rookie honors, joining Samantha Hodges (2015) and Rina Baynes (2016).
  • Perraudin led the team with four wins last season, while posting a perfect 2-0 mark in Northeast Conference (NEC) action. 
  • The Green & White finished the condensed 2020-21 season 1-4, earning a thrilling 4-3 road victory at Monmouth back on March 28.
 
Scouting The Opponents…
Fordham
  • The Rams competed at the Northeast Regionals, hosted by Army West Point back on October 7.
  • Avery Aude defeated Siena's Emma Boggiali, 6-4; 6-3 on the first day of competition.
  • Last season, Fordham finished 6-5 overall, earning wins over Fairfield, Seton Hall, Quinnipiac, Drexel, Saint Joseph's (twice).

  • The Green & White will travel to West Long Branch, NJ to tangle with the Monmouth University Hawks on Friday, October 15 at 3:30 p.m.
