Smithfield, RI – The Wagner College field hockey team will conclude their weekend at Bryant University for their second consecutive Northeast Conference (NEC) contest. Last time out, the Seahawks fell to LIU 2-1to bring their overall record to 4-7 and 1-1 in NEC play.

Last Time Out for Wagner…

  • Wagner dropped its second straight contest in a conference matchup against the Long Island University Sharks on Friday afternoon, as the Seahawks fell 2-1 on the road.
  • Senior Julia Cruces Pastorino scored the lone goal for the Green & White when she redirected a Liselotte Koop shot off of a corner.
  • For Cruces Pastorino, it was her sixth time find the back of the net this season while Koop continues to add to her season totals, picking up a team-leading ninth assist and has now had at least one point in seven straight contests.
  • Julia Cruces Pastorino and senior Agustina Deharbe led the Seahawks with four shot attempts.
Change the Record Books…
  • Senior Julia Cruces Pastorino and freshman Liselotte Koop are now at the top of the list in the career point totals in Wagner field hockey history. For Cruces Pastorino, she is the sole leader with 20 and Koop is right behind her with 19. Both Seahawks passed former Seahawk Hannah Meyer, who accumulated 18 total points.
  • The freshman Koop leads the Seahawks with 19 total points and the Cruces Pastorino is right behind her with 18, but two points in the shortened 2021 spring season catapults the Buenos Aires, Argentina native to the top spot.
  • Cruces Pastorino leads Wagner in goals (6), shots (38), and shots on goal (24).
  • Koop leads Wagner in assists (9), minutes (666), and points (19).
About Bryant University…
  • The Bulldogs fell to 0-11 on the season after falling to Saint Francis University, 5-0, in their first home game of the 2021 season on Friday afternoon.
  • Bryant, looking to snap a 16-game losing streak dating back to last season, will look for their first win of the season on Sunday against Wagner.
  • Taryn Rauff is the team's leader in goals (4), points (8), shots (23), and shots on goal (17).
  • Marjin Jaarsma has started every game for the Bulldogs in goal.
  • She has made 40 saves on 122 shots faced.
Next Up For Wagner…
  • The Seahawks will return to the friendly confines of the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex next weekend for two contests.
  • First, on Friday, October 15, the Green & White will host Fairfield for an NEC contest at 3:00 P.M. before hosting Villanova on Sunday, October 17, at noon.
