Smithfield, RI -  The Wagner College women's soccer team hits the road as they head to Smithfield, RI to tangle with the Bryant University Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon. 


OPENING KICKS...
  • The Green & White picked up its first league win of the season, defeating Merrimack, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Hameline Field. 
  • Junior forward Madison Carr netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season. 
  • Wagner also got scores from Annie White, her third of the season, and,  freshman Emma Roe, who recorded her first collegiate goal on Sunday. 
  • Bryant enters Thursday's contest riding a three-match winning streak, after defeating Mount St. Mary's, 5-3, on Sunday afternoon.

ALL-TIME SERIES...
  • Thursday's contest is the 14th all-time meeting between these two conference foes with Bryant leading the series, 9-2-2. 
  • Wagner is looking to snap a six-match losing streak against the Bulldogs.
  • The Seahawks last defeated Bryant back on October 25, 2013, earning a 4-3 overtime victory in Smithfield.  

ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS...
  • Wagner is tied for fifth in the conference in total goals scored with 13. 
  • Collectively, the Green & White also ranks fifth in the NEC in totals saves with 58, averaging 5.27 per contest. 
  • Junior forward Madison Carr is tied for the conference lead with Howard's Melea Earley with six goals. 
  • Carr ranks third in points per game, averaging 1.09 per contest.
  • Junior tri-captain Annie White is among the league leaders in goals scored with three. 
  • Sophomore Mia Tessier is tied for fourth in the conference in assists with three. 
  • Junior netminder Erin Kelly ranks third among conference goalkeepers in goals- against average at 1.20. 
  • Kelly is tied for the NEC lead in shutouts with two, joining Central Connecticut's Amanda McQuillan and Fairleigh Dickinson's Malene Nielsen. 


ABOUT THE BULLDOGS...
  • Bryant will be hosting their fourth straight home game on Thursday afternoon, as the Bulldogs enter with a 4-7-0 overall record and a 2-2-0 mark in league action. 
  • The Bulldogs' trio of Katie Cronin, Kathryn McNeil, and Catherine Bean swept the NEC weekly honors this week. 
  • Cronin was named the NEC Player of the Week as she tallied seven points in two games with the game-winning goal against CCSU and added two more scores and an assist against Mount St. Mary's. 
  • McNeil recorded her first career shutout and made a total of nine saves to earn Defensive Player of the Week. 
  • Bean added five points with an assist against the Blue Devils and a goal and two helpers against the Mount in receiving NEC Rookie of the Week accolades. 
  • The Bulldogs are tied for the second-most goals scored in the league this season with 15. 
  • Bean leads the NEC with 43 shot attempts, averaging close to four a contest. 
  • Cronin is the team leader in goals scored with five while she and Bean are tied with 11 points. 
  • McNeil has appeared in six games this season, allowing just six goals, and has recorded 17 stops thus far.
