Staten Island, NY -  The Wagner College women's soccer team will host LIU on Sunday, October 17, as the Seahawks take on the Sharks for Senior Night.

First kick is slated for 6 p.m.. Wagner will honor their two seniors before the contest for Senior Night, as Gabby Cipriano and tri-captain Luisa Barone will be recognized. 


OPENING KICKS...
  • Junior forward Madison Carr notched her team-leading seventh goal in the 34th minute that evened the match against Fairleigh Dickinson at 1-1. 
  • The fixture remained deadlocked until the 104th minute of double overtime when Aitana Martinez-Montoya netted the golden goal as the Seahawks dropped Thursday's Northeast Conference (NEC) match, 2-1. 
  • Wagner recorded 20 shot attempts in the contest while posting a season-high 12 on target. 
  • Freshman goalkeeper Sam Hughes made three saves. 
  • Carr and junior tri-captain Annie White each had four shot attempts for the Seahawks and led the way with three shots on goal, respectively. 
  • LIU comes into Sunday's contest looking to bounce back from a 2-1 setback on the road at Temple on October 12.

  • Sunday's contest between the Seahawks and the Sharks is the 24th all-time meeting with LIU holding a 15-7-1 advantage in the head-to-head series. 
  • Wagner is 4-7-1 all-time against LIU at Hameline Field. 
  • In their last four meetings, the Green & White is 2-1-1. 
  • The Seahawks last victory over LIU came back October 6, 2018, when senior Luisa Barone netted home the golden goal in overtime as Wagner picked up a 1-0 triumph. 
  • The Sharks were victorious the last time these two met, 1-0, back on October 20, 2019, on Staten Island.


ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS...
  • Wagner is tied with Fairleigh Dickinson for fourth in the circuit in total shots as the Seahawks have recorded 166 this season and averaging 11.9 per game. 
  • The Seahawks are also tied with FDU and Sacred Heart for fourth in total goals with 16. 
  • Junior Madison Carr is among the league leaders in points, as she is tied with Howard's Melea Earley, Sacred Heart's Grace O'Hara and Mount St. Mary's Elisabeth Rockhill with 14 points. 
  • Carr is tied for the league lead with Atina Martinez-Montoya of FDU and Catherine Bean of Bryant with seven goals.

  • LIU currently sits in seventh-place in the league standings at 2-7-2 and 2-3-1 in conference matches. 
  • The Sharks are led by Kendra Oldroyd, who has a team-best three goals and seven points. 
  • Mackenzie Morano has the team-lead in asssists with two. 
  • In goal, Kayla Detreux has seen the majority of the work, starting in eight games in which she has allowed 12 goals and recorded 42 saves.
