Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's soccer team returns home to Hameline Field to take on the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights on Thursday evening. 

OPENING KICKS...
  • The Seahawks concluded non-conference play on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Iona College Gaels, 2-0. 
  • Senior tri-captain Luisa Barone had a team-high three shot attempts while sophomore forward Caitlin Filja had a team-best two shots on target. 
  • Junior goalkeeper Erin Kelly made five first half saves while freshman Sam Hughes came on in the second half to make one save for the Green & White. 
  • Fairleigh Dickinson enters play looking for to extend their winning streak to three after recording a 2-1 home victory over defending Northeast Conference (NEC) champions, Central Connecticut, on Sunday.

  • The Green & White enters play winners of their last two Northeast Conference (NEC) matches after Wagner earned a thrilling, 2-1, come-from-behind double overtime win at Bryant back on October 7. 
  • Junior forward Isabella Manzella scored the golden goal in the 105th minute after she was able to locate the loose ball and boot one past the keeper giving Wagner the win.
  • Sophomore Kayla Barbosa netted her first collegiate goal that tied the game in the 74th minute. 
  • As a team, the Seahawks rank fifth in the conference in goals scored (15) and saves (67). 
  • Individually, junior forward Madison Carr is tied for second in the circuit with Howard's Melea Earley and FDU's Aitana Martinez-Montoya with six goals. 
  • Sophomore Mia Tessier is tied for sixth in the conference with three assists.
  • Junior keeper, Erin Kelly, is fifth in the league with a 1.29 goals-against average while ranking sixth in save percentage (.766).
  • Freshman goalkeeper, Sam Hughes, is among the top-ten in save percentage at .732. 

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS...
  • Fairleigh Dickinson currently sits in a tie for the top-spot in the NEC standings (with Central Connecticut) at 4-1-0 (7-4-2 overall). 
  • Aitana Martinez-Montoya was recently named the NEC Player and Rookie of the Week while teammate Christa Waterman was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week. 
  • Martinez-Montoya scored three goals over her two games against Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut.  Against the Pioneers, she netted both scores in the 2-0 victory. 
  • Waterman scored the game-winner in the 2-1 victory over CCSU and led the Knights' defense in yielding just one goal over the last 180 minutes. 
  • Martinez-Montoya leads the team with six goals and 13 points.
  • Gina Steiner leads the club with three assists.
  • Malene Nielsen has played in all 13 games for the Knights, allowing just 16 goals and recording 63 saves.
