Staten Island, NY - Winners of four straight games, the Wagner College field hockey team will look to continue their winnings ways as the Seahawks return home to the Wagner Colllege Field Hockey Complex on Sunday afternoon to host the University of Vermont Catamounts.


Last Time Out for Wagner…

  • Senior Julia Cruces Pastorino recorded a game-high four goals while adding two assists as Wagner picked up its first Northeast Conference (NEC) win of the season, defeating the Saint Francis U Red Flash, 8-1, in Loretto, PA on Friday afternoon. 
  • The eight goals scored by the Seahawks are tied for the fourth-most goals scored by a team this season, joining Maryland, Iowa and Michigan. 
  • Freshman Liselotte Koop added two goals and an assist in the victory. Kira Mordvinov and Agustina Deharbe also found the back of the net for the Green & White. 
  • Sophomore Arianna Martina notched the first points of her collegiate career, adding two assists in the win. 
  • Senior goalkeeper Daisy Ruhle was credited with three saves on the afternoon. 

Seahawks Sweep NEC Weekly Honors…
  • Following strong performances in a pair of victories this past weekend, the Northeast Conference (NEC) announced on Monday afternoon that Deharbe and senior Daisy Ruhle along with freshman Liselotte Koop swept the league's weekly awards.
  • Deharbe earned NEC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals and six points this weekend. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native currently ranks fourth in points (9), sixth, in points per game (1.12), and fourth in goals (4) in the NEC.
  • After being named as an NEC Prime Performer last week, Ruhle claimed her first Defensive Player of the Week award. The Marlow, England native allowed two goals in two victories while stopping 12 shots. The senior captain currently leads the NEC in save percentage (.817) and ranks second in goals against average (1.84), saves (58), and saves per game (7.25).
  • Koop continues to get off to a fast start to her career on Grymes Hill. Following an appearance on Prime Performers list a week ago, the Hattem, Netherlands native contributed six points in Wagner's victories over Towson and Quinnipiac this week. Against the Tigers on Friday, Koop netted a goal and added two assists in the 3-1 road triumph. On Sunday, she scored her third goal of the year. Koop leads the Seahawks in minutes, points, and assists. She is the conference leader in assists and assists per game (0.75).

  • The Catamounts enter play with a 7-4 overall record.
  • Vermont picked up a 2-0 road win, upsetting the No. 22 ranked, Monmouth University, on Friday afternoon. 
  • Alina Gerke and Clodagh Ferry scored the goals for the visitors. 
  • Ferry leads the team with seven goals and 16 points
  • Kate Hall and Puck Kwaspen are tied for the team-lead with eight assists, respectively. 
  • Sophia Drees and Gerke have a pair of game-winning goals to their ledgers this year. 
  • In goal, Sierra Espeland has played in all 11 games for the Catamounts, recording 54 saves on 115 shots faced (.740 SV%) while yielding 19 goals this season (1.75 GAA).

  • The Seahawks resume Northeast Conference (NEC) action with a pair of road tilts, beginning on Friday, October 8, as Wagner will head to Brookville, NY to tangle with the LIU Sharks before heading to Smithfield, RI on Sunday, October 10, to take on the Bryant University Bulldogs.
