Queens, NY  - The Wagner College men's tennis team was shutout by the Queens College Knights, 7-0, on Monday afternoon at the Queens College Tennis Center.

Queens College took No. 3 double by a 6-1 count and was involved in two tightly contested matches at No. 2 and No. 1. At second doubles, the Seahawk pairing of Hans Ohrner and Tejasvi Mehra staged a comeback but were edged, 6-4, by Lucas Demuth and Eduardo Marino.

At first doubles, the duo of Omar Loutfy and Dylan Walters secured a 6-3 win over Moritz Borges and Kareem Rashad.

The Seahawks put forth a valiant effort in singles action. Loutfy squared off against Mariano Bibiloni at No. 4 but was defeated 6-4, 6-4.

Senior Hans Ohrner dropped the first set at No. 1, 6-3, to Rashad, before battling back-and-forth in the second set before ultimately dropping a 7-5 decision, which sealed the win for Queens.

Walters rallied back in second singles after dropping the first set, 6-1, as he claimed a 6-4 triumph in forcing a third set. He and his counterpart, Lucas Demuth, went toe-to-toe before Demuth was able to outlast Walters, 7-5, in the third set.

Wagner returns to the courts on Saturday, March 7, as the Seahawks head to Annapolis, MD to take on Navy.
