Brooklyn, NY  –  The Wagner College women's basketball team continues its final road trip of the 2019-20 season as they return to Brooklyn to take on the LIU Sharks on Saturday afternoon at the Steinberg Wellness Center. 

 
Playoff Push...
  • Wagner enters play in a four-way tie with Sacred Heart, Bryant and LIU for fifth in the NEC standings.
  • All four teams are one game back of Fairleigh Dickinson, who the Seahawks will see on Monday evening. 
  • Wagner currently leads the pack of four, having the most overall victories with 10, followed by Sacred Heart (9-17), Bryant (8-18) and LIU (7-19).
  • Merrimack, who currently ranks third in the league standings, in not eligible for the NEC postseason due to NCAA Reclassifying regulations.

Last Time Out For Wagner...
  • The Wagner College women's basketball outscored St. Francis Brooklyn, 21-7, in the second quarter en route to posting a 74-53 road victory on Sunday afternoon at the Pope Physical Education Center.
  • Three Seahawks scored in double-figures on the day, led by sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava, who netted a game-high 22 points. Krista Grava, who converted on 9 of 19 from the field, pulled down a team-high eight rebounds while dishing out five assists in 33 minutes of play.
  • Junior Khaleah Edwards finished with 21 points, 13 of which coming in Wagner's big second quarter turnaround. The London, England native went 5 of 6 from the floor in the frame while hitting on a trio of three-pointers.
  • Redshirt senior guard Janelle Mullen concluded the game with 19 points on 8 of 16 shooting from the floor, with nine points coming from the outside in 34 minutes of action. 
  • Two Terriers finished in double digits, led by Ally Lassen's team-high 15 points, eight-rebound performance. Nevena Dimitrijevic tallied 11 points and dished out three assists in her 34 minutes of play. 


Wagner All-Time Against LIU...
  • Saturday's contest is the 91st all-time meeting between the two schools, with Wagner holding a 46-44 edge in the head-to-head series. 
  • The Seahawks have won the last four meetings. 
  • Wagner, however, is just 1-4 in Brooklyn, in their last five meetings against LIU. 


Last Time Against The Sharks...
  • Down 61-60 a minute into the overtime session, Wagner sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava hit what turned out to be the go-ahead jumper with 35 seconds left in the extra frame just before junior guard Alayshia Dailey made one-of-two from the line as the Seahawks edged out the LIU Sharks, 63-61, at the Spiro Sports Center. 
  • Krista Grava paced the Seahawks with 17 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field while pulling down a team-best seven rebounds in 37 minutes of action. 
  • Senior forward Jordan Hobson joined Krista Grava in double-figures, chipping in 12 points on 5-for-9 from the floor in 20 minutes of play. 
  • The Sharks also had two players score in double-figures, led by Ryan Weise, who netted a team-high 16 points, highlighted by four three-pointers. 
  • Brandy Thomas poured in 15 points to go along with eight rebounds in 36 minutes while Kiara Bell corralled a game-high 12 rebounds and scored seven points. 


About The LIU Sharks...
  • The LIU Sharks are looking for its second straight win after picking up a convincing, 71-64, road triumph at Saint Francis U on Sunday afternoon in Loretto, PA. 
  • LIU is looking to even up the season series with the Seahawks. 
  • Brandy Thomas ranks fourth in the league in scoring at 15.3 ppg while placing among the top-ten in rebounding (7.7 rpg) and steals (1.8 spg).
  • Kiara Bell, who has netted 10.0 ppg this season, leads the Sharks at 8.2 caroms a contest,  good for fourth in the circuit and ranks fifth in the conference with 1.4 blocks a game (36 for the season). 
  • Collectively, LIU is averaging 61.0 ppg, good for fifth, despite giving up the third-most points in the conference (67.4 ppg). 
  • The Sharks are third in the league in three-point shooting at 32.2 percent while limiting opponents to just 30.5 percent a game.


Charting EKG Levels...
  • Sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava is currently the second-leading scorer in the Northeast Conference (NEC), averaging 16.0 ppg while ranking fourth in field-goal percentage, shooting 48.0 percent this season. 
  • In conference-only games, Krista Grava is pouring in 16.4 ppg while shooting at a 46.7 percent clip and converting 85.0 percent from the free-throw line.

  • The Seahawks are 5-5 over their last ten contests. 
  • Krista Grava has netted nearly 200 points over her last ten games, averaging 19.3 points per game during this span while shooting an efficient 49.4 percent from the field and 90.6 percent from the free-throw line in 32.2 minutes per game.
