Hempstead, NY – On Friday, August 30, the Wagner College field hockey team will officially commence its inaugural season, as the Seahawks travel to Hempstead, NY to take on Hofstra.
The Green & White will be led by first-year head coach,
Niki Miller, who was a four-year standout forward at the University of Massachusetts.
The Pride will also be led by a first-year head coach in Courtney Veinotte, who was elevated to the position from associate head coach following the resignation of former head coach, Kathy De Angelis. Hofstra finished 5-13 and 2-4 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play.
About Wagner:
- The inaugural field hockey roster consists of ten freshmen, four sophomores, two juniors and one graduate student.
- Six different states and four countries are represented on the 2019 roster.
About Hofstra:
- The Pride bring back 17 members from last season's squad, which include seven starters.
- Among Hofstra's returners, three of their four top scorers, anchored by 2019 CAA Preseason All-Conference sleection and 2018 Second Teamer, Cami Larsson.
