Staten Island, NY - Former Wagner men's basketball standout
AJ Sumbry has signed a two-year contract with BMS Herlev Wolpack, a professional team based out of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The East Windsor, NJ, native joins a long list of former Seahawks who have gone on to play professional basketball, which also includes Sumbry's former teammates
JoJo Cooper and
Michael Carey.
Sumbry was a defensive force throughout his three-year Seahawk career, finishing third on the all-time blocks list with 136 rejections throughout his career.
In his final year as a Seahawk, the 6-8 forward averaged 8.1 points and 6.2 rebounds, including a season-high 14 boards against Fairfield.
Sumbry finished his career with 571 career points and 507 rebounds while appearing in 91 games in a Wagner uniform.
BMS Herlev Wolfpack moved up in the Danish Basketligaen after a winning the Danish 1st Division in the summer 2017, following a win over Værløse BBK.
