Brooklyn, NY – The Wagner College softball team suffered two Northeast Conference (NEC) losses to LIU Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks dropped game one by a 9-1 margin, before falling 12-4 in game two. With the two setbacks, Wagner is now 13-26 on the season and 3-9 in NEC play.

The Seahawks scored their lone run of the contest in the top of the fifth inning.
Senior
Karen Prihoda reached on an error and advanced to second on a groundout before stealing third base. Freshman
Natalie Del Ponte brought Prihoda home with an RBI single up the middle to cut into the deficit.
The Blackbirds scored in four different innings and were led by Kiana Cisneros' three RBIs to earn the 9-1 victory.

Game 2 Recap: LIU Brooklyn 12, Wagner 4
The Seahawks got off to a fast start and took the early lead in the second game of the afternoon, as RBI base hits by Van Orman and Smith in the first inning gave the Green and White an early 2-0 advantage.
Wagner went right back to work in the second inning, adding two more runs to double its lead to 4-0. Sophomore
Alexis Silinonte reached on an error and junior
Zoe Bender singled, setting the Seahawks up with two runners on base.
Next up, an RBI single by Prihoda scored Silinonte, making it 3-0 in favor of the Seahawks. Wagner then executed the double steal to perfection, as Prihoda took second base and Bender raced home from third to give the Green and White a 4-0 lead.
Van Orman, Smith, and Silinonte each had two hits as Wagner combined for eight hits as a team.
The Blackbirds scored one run in the second and 11 runs in the third to earn the sweep.

Eve Harvey was the losing pitcher of record, while Van Orman and Luna both pitched in relief.
The Seahawks will travel to Columbia for a single game on Wednesday at 4pm before closing out the regular season with two home series against Fairleigh Dickinson and Central Connecticut.
