McCae Allen limited the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers to just one run while freshman 2B
Shamus Connolly and senior 3B
Will Johnson combined to drive in five RBIs as the Wagner baseball team took two-of-three from the Mount in posting an 8-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Seahawks improve to 14-21 overall and 8-7 in Northeast Conference (NEC) action while the Mountaineers fall to 12-26 and 6-9 in league play.
Allen fired off a season-high seven innings, allowing just one earned run while scattering four hits in picking up his fourth victory of the season. The Wichita, KS native also matched a career-high with seven strikeouts while issuing just one walk.

Justin Beyer worked the eighth inning, giving up just an unearned run on two hits while striking out two. Third-year Seahawk
Nick Robino came on to work a scoreless ninth, in which he gave up a hit and recorded a strikeout.
Connolly was one of three Seahawks with two hits, as the first-year Seahawk drove in a career-best three RBIs in today's victory. Senior

Johnson, who scored two runs, along with classmate
Freddy Sabido, drove in two RBIs in four plate appearances this afternoon.

Mike Ruggiero also added an RBI.
Myles Nicholson led the Mountaineers with two hits on the day while Alex Kriss and A.J. Narcise scored the lone runs for the Mount in the setback. Brenden Kennedy took the loss after giving up six runs (one earned) in 4.2 innings of work in which he allowed nine hits.
Wagner jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first as Johnson sent an RBI grounder to shortstop that plated home Sabido, who had moved to third on a passed ball.
The Seahawks struck for two more scores in their half of the third in taking a 3-0 lead. Silvestrone belted a single to center that brought in Pecora and Johnson followed up with his second RBI of the afternoon on a grounder to second that scored Sabido.
Mount got on the board in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 3-1. Narcise led off with a single and moved to second on a failed pickoff attempt from Allen. Ryan Fisher reached on a bunt single. With one out in the frame, the Mountaineers tried to execute a double steal as Narcise scored on the play but Fisher was thrown out at second.
Matti doubled to left to left field to start the fourth and came around to score Wagner's fourth run of the game on an RBI double from Connolly. In the Wagner fifth, the Seahawks tacked on two more runs in taking a 6-1 lead. With two outs, Connolly came through again, sending a two-run single to center field.
Following a scoreless sixth, Sanfillippo delivered his first home run of the season, connecting on the first pitch he saw, that increased the Wagner lead to 7-1.
Mount plated across its final run of the contest in the bottom of the eighth as Owen Wosleger reached on a fielding error that scored Kriss, who singled through the left side to start the frame.
Ruggiero got the run back for the visitors as he sent a two-out single to left field that scored Johnson, capping the six-run victory for the visiting Seahawks, who conclude the season series with Mount St. Mary's by taking four of the six contests.
Wagner begins a seven-game homestand, beginning on Wednesday, April 24, as the Seahawks play host to Manhattan College under the lights at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. First-pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m.
