Fairfield, CT – The Wagner College softball team earned a hard-fought 5-4 victory in game two of Saturday's Northeast Conference (NEC) doubleheader at Sacred Heart on Friday.
The Seahawks lost game one by a score of 3-2 in walk-off fashion and now sit at 13-24 overall and 3-7 in NEC play, while the Pioneers are 23-23 on the season with a 7-5 conference mark.

Wagner took an early lead and never trailed in the second game of the afternoon. Junior
Kaila Smith got things started with a two-run double to left center that scored junior
Hannah Lewis and senior
Karen Prihoda, giving Wagner a 2-0 lead.
After the Pioneers tied the game in the bottom of the first inning, Prihoda broke the tie with an RBI single in the fourth inning, before Smith launched a home run in the fifth inning to make It 4-2 Wagner.
In the top of the seventh, the second RBI single of the afternoon by Prihoda provided an important insurance run for the Seahawks, as the Pioneers rallied and got within one run in the seventh, but freshman
Eve Harvey shut the door and clinched the victory with a game-ending strikeout.
Junior
Amelia Van Orman earned the victory in the circle after tossing five innings and striking out two, while Harvey struck out three in just two innings of relief.

Zoe Bender celebrated a milestone, as her lone base hit of the game was the 100
th of her career.
Smith led the way with three RBIs, while Prihoda delivered two RBIs for the Seahawks.
Game 1 Recap: Sacred Heart 3, Wagner 2
The first game of the afternoon was a pitchers' duel early on, as neither team could muster a run in the first five innings.
The Seahawks broke through in the top of the sixth, as an RBI single by Van Orman and a sacrifice fly by freshman
Natalie Del Ponte gave Wagner a 2-0 lead.
Sacred Heart responded with one run in the sixth inning and won the game on a walk-off, two-run double in the bottom half of the seventh inning.
Freshman Kaila Hooks was charged with the loss after going the distance in the circle.
Prihoda and Lewis were the lone Seahawks to record hits in the contest.
The Seahawks will be back in action tomorrow at LIU Brooklyn, with game one's first pitch set for 3:00 pm.
