Teaneck, NJ – The Wagner College women's tennis team was defeated by the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
With the setback, the Seahawks fall to 4-9 overall and 2-2 in Northeast Conference (NEC) matches while the Knights improve to 12-8 overall and sport a 5-1 league mark.
FDU took two of three doubles matches in securing the first point of the overall match. The Seahawk duo of co-captains

Rina Baynes put forth a valiant effort, but were edged by Marta Ruszczynska and Vorozheikina, 6-4, at No. 1
Newcomers
Samantha Lugtu and
Diana Pinzariu earned a 6-4 triumph at No. 3 doubles over Anamaria Vladescu and Smriti Singh for the lone Seahawk victory on the afternoon.
In singles, the Knights took all six singles matches in earning the shutout of the Seahawks.
Wagner will next be in action on Friday, April 12 as the Green & White host LIU Brooklyn.
