Staten Island, NY – Wagner junior attackman

Kevin Gray recorded career highs with four goals each but it wasn't enough as VMI withstood a 5-0 second-half Seahawk surge in recording a 15-10 victory at bone-chilling Hameline Field on Tuesday.
With the loss, Wagner falls to 1-5 on the season while Keydets improve to 3-1.
After the defenses held the upper hand during a 1-1 stalemate after one quarter of play, VMI outscored the Seahawks 8-3 in the second quarter in building a 9-4 halftime lead.
The lead grew to 11-4 after the Keydets tallied two unanswered goals in the first five minutes of the second half.
With Wagner seemingly on the ropes, the Seahawks ripped off five straight goals, bridging the third and fourth quarters, the first three coming from Gray, with junior midfielder
Nick Warren and junior attackman
Nic Ancona tacking on two more.
The five-goal explosion drew the Green & White to within two goals at 11-9 with 10:47 left to play. This is as close as the Seahawks would get as VMI's RJ Barnes countered Ancona's score with a quick-strike goal just 19 seconds later to kick-start a 4-0 Keydet run and a commanding 15-9 lead.
Gray finished the day's scoring with his fourth goal at the 3:17 mark which, which fittingly, came off an assist by Branda, his second of the day, which gave the Ringwood, NJ native a career-best six-point (4g, 2a) afternoon.
VMI was paced by a four-goal, two-assist day by John O'Donnell.
The Seahawks are next in action on Saturday, March 9 when they play host to the Quinnipiac University Bobcats in a 12:00 p.m. faceoff at Hameline Field.
