Wagner College Invitational Results
Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's track and field team opened their outdoor season at the Wagner College Invitational at Hameline Field on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Sara Carney and sophomore
Vivian Liell were among the top-ten in the 5000m, as Carney clocked in with a time of 18:23.95, while Liell finished seventh with a time of 19:20.69. Sophomore
Jordan Sorilla placed among the top-15 with a time of 21:01.32.
Three Seahawks placed among the top-five in the 100m as sophomore
Anna Greentree clocked in with a time of 13.11. Teammate
Rachel Chao and
Cheyenne Brown finished fourth and fifth, respectively, turning in times of 13.43 and 13.50.
Chao turned in a third-place performance in the 200m, posting a finals time of 28.10 while juniors
Alexandra Elder and
Jenna Gibilisco, were among the top-ten, as Elder placed eighth with a time of 29.08 and Gibilisco finishing at 29.55. Gibilisco was sixth in the 400m with a time of 1:05.76.
Greentree returned to the podium once again, earning first in the 800m run with a time of 2:23.23, with freshman teammate
Sara Rutherford rounded out the top-five, clocking in a time of 2:39.33.
The 1500m saw five Seahawks rank among the top-20, as Elder placed third with a time of 5:10.16. Newcomers
Kayla Hay and Kabrina Weaver were among the top-15 as Hay checked in with a time of 5:22.58 while Weaver crossed the finish line at 5:35.78.
Fellow classmate Anna Carrion i Barea and junior
Ashley Ducharme placed inside the top-20 with times of 5:53.58 and 5:56.56, respectively.
Senior
Kenya Hyman finished first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.32. She was also apart of the 4x100 relay team, along with
Miracle Nwobu, Brown and
Adia Cavalier, that crossed the finish line with a top-time of 50.47.
Cavalier soared to a first-place finish in the long jump, clearing 4.93m while newcomer
Bridget Beahn soared 4.39m.
Sophomore
Tiffany Hanna placed first in the hammer throw with a launch of 41.98m while placing second in the discus with a throw of 34.08m. Teammate
Christina Samuels Lee finished fifth in the discus at 25.57m.
The women's outdoor track & field squad will be action on April 13 as they head to West Long Branch, NJ to compete in the 24th Annual Monmouth Season Opener, held on the campus of Monmouth University.
