West Point, NY – The Wagner College women's tennis was shutout for the second straight match, falling to Quinnipiac, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon.
With the setback, the Seahawks fall to 3-6 on the year while the Bobcats improve to 4-6.
Quinnipiac took control of the match from the start, winning the doubles points with a pair of 6-2 triumphs and earning a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Bobcats would then take all six singles matches to claim the win but sophomore
Fidan Khalilzade made it a bit difficult for QU in No. 2 as she was able to take the second set, 6-3, before ultimately being edged by Jennifer Lu, 10-5, in the third set.
The Seahawks will return to the courts on March 9 as they will look for the season sweep of its Northeast Conference (NEC) rival, St. Francis Brooklyn.
