Poughkeepsie, NY - The No. 19 Wagner women's water polo team upset No. 14 Princeton with a final score of 11-10.
Redshirt junior
Kristy Donkin was the first player from either team to strike the back of the net, capitalizing on a power-play opportunity off the assist from senior
Erica Hardy. Freshman
Philippa Nash tallied one goal in the first stanza as the Tigers and Seahawks were tied 2-2 at the end of the first eight minutes of play.
In the second quarter, Wagner notched four goals from sophomore
Daisy Nankervis (1), freshman
Sofia Diaz Alvarez (2) and Hardy (1). Princeton added three goals as the Green & White led 6-5 at the end of the first half.

Savannah Henshaw scored back to back goals while the Tigers added one more tally. Nankervis drew a five meter penalty, helping Diaz Alvarez secure a hat trick with the goal.
The Tigers fought back with two more goals to tie up the game at 9-9 entering into the fourth and final stanza.
Junior
Jacqui Sjogren opened the final period with a power move in the center and her first goal of the game. Princeton answered, tying the score again at 10-10.
Hardy earned an exclusion and then scored her third goal of the game off of the power-play opportunity, giving Wagner an 11-10 lead.
With 57 seconds remaining on the clock, Princeton's head coach Derek Ellingson called a timeout to strategize with his Tigers. However, freshman
Mikaela Wells secured the win for the Seahawks, grabbing a steal and eliminating Princeton's final chance to tie the game as the Green & White upset the Tigers 11-10.
Wagner will be back in action on March 2-3 in Bloomington, IN for the Indiana Invitational.
