Staten Island, NY – The Seahawks will continue Northeast Conference (NEC) play this Thursday, facing off against the Northeast Conference leading, No. 24 Fairfield Stags.
LAST TIME OUT FOR WAGNER…
In their last matchup, the Seahawks fell to the Lock Haven Bald Eagles on the road 4-0. They were outshot for the tenth straight game, 23-2. The Bald Eagles struck twice in the first eight minutes of the game, before scoring a third goal with only 41 seconds remaining in the first half. In the second half, the Green & White's defense stood much taller, only allowing a single goal, a little over four minutes into the fourth quarter. Lock Haven would go to grab their eighth win of the season, by the score of 4-0.
ABOUT FAIRFIELD:
The Stags are coming into this matchup in first place in the NEC with a conference record of 3-0. After starting the year with a 3-0 loss at UMass Lowell, Fairfield rebounded by defeating No. 13 Boston College 3-2 in overtime on the road; they would take the momentum from that win and turn it into a seven-game winning streak. The Stags received their only other loss of the season on September 27, when they fell 6-4 to the Northeastern Huskies. Once again they rebounded from defeat, besting NEC foe, Sacred Heart 1-0 in overtime, which they would follow up with four more victories for a five-game winning streak, a winning streak that they will bring to Staten Island. The Stags are led by a very balanced attack, that includes five different players with five or more goals. Leading the way, is Danielle Profita, who leads the team in goals with six and is tied for the team lead in assists, again with six. In goal, Fairfield is led by Zoe Rosen, who has only allowed 18 goals in 14 games, for an impressive 1.27 average goals against, as well as a save percentage over 74%. Following the Seahawks, Fairfield will travel to Durham, NH on Saturday to take on the Merrimack Warriors.

The Seahawks will be back on the road on Sunday, heading to New Haven, CT, to take on the Sacred Heart Pioneers at 1:00 pm. The game will be played at Johnson Field on the campus of Yale University and will be available for streaming on NECFrontRow.
