Lock Haven, PA – Field Hockey wrapped up their weekend road trip on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Lock Haven Bald Eagles, 4-0.
The Bald Eagles (8-7, 4-2 A-10) were led by freshman midfielder Jazmin Palma who led Lock Haven with 4 points, including a goal and two assists, making herself a part of three of her team's four goals. Senior forward Mackenzie Farley led the Bald Eagles in shots (7) and shots on goal (4) as she made her presence known on the Wagner defensive end. In goal, Joaquina Orlandini tallied a single save and held the Seahawks scoreless to record her seventh win on the season and the teams fifth overall shutout.
Wagner (1-9; 0-3 NEC) was outshot 23-2 in the game, with both shots coming from freshman standout
Hannah Meyer. However the Seahawks would only manage to put a single shot on goal, while the Bald Eagles put the ball on frame a total of 14 times. In goal, the Green & White continued to split time between goalkeepers
Annabel Zandvoort and
Justine van Spengler. Zandvoort recorded three saves and allowed three goals against in the first half, while Van Spengler stopped seven shots and only let one goal past her in the second.
The Seahawks will be back in action next Thursday, going up against the No. 24 Fairfield Stags on Grymes Hill at 4:00 p.m. As all home games, the match will be available for streaming on NEC Front Row.
