Newark, NJ – The Wagner College women's tennis team dropped its first dual match of the spring season, falling to the NJIT Highlanders, 7-0, on Friday afternoon from the Naimoli Family Athletic And Recreational Facility.
With the setback, the Seahawks fall to 3-3 overall on the season while the Highlanders earn its first dual match victory of the 2018-19 season.
The Highlanders took control of the match from the start, winning the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 victories at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles play, respectively.
NJIT went on to win all six singles points in two sets apiece to complete the match.
Wagner will next be in action on Friday, February 1 as the Seahawks will make the short trip to Queens to tangle with Big East members, St. John's.
