Teaneck, NJ – The Wagner women's tennis team suffered a tightly contested defeat, 4-3, Northeast Conference (NEC) decision on the road at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday morning.
The Seahawks now stand at 6-7 overall and 3-2 in league action while the Knights improve to 2-11 and 2-2 in conference play.
The Green & White picked up a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles play as sophomore

Rina Baynes got past Marta Ruszcynska and Patricia Eftenoiu. FDU earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 to even out doubles play at 1-1. Wagner was awarded the first point of the match via default. The Knights went ahead, 2-1, as Ruszcynska defeated Baynes, 6-4; 6-2 at No. 2 singles play. Anand tied the match at 2-2 after getting past Tatiana Eftenoiu, 6-4; 6-2.

Samantha Hodges, 6-4; 6-0 at No. 3 as the Knights took a 3-2 advantage before clinching the match at No. 5 as Anamaria Vladescu defeated second-year Seahawk,
Melanie Post, 6-1; 6-0.
The women's tennis team will next be in action on Sunday, April 15, as they square off against fellow conference rival, LIU Brooklyn, at the Wagner Tennis Courts at 2:00 p.m.
