Jersey City, NJ – Backed by a pair of nine-run offensive outbursts and a one-hit shutout by reigning Northeast Conference (NEC) pitcher of the week 
Morgan Brown in game one, the Wagner College softball team swept Saint Peter's by scores of 9-0 and 9-6 on Tuesday afternoon.
With the two victories, the Seahawks improve to 10-19 on the season, while the Peacocks fall to 3-23.
Game 1 – Wagner 9, Saint Peter's 0
Brown picked up where she left off in conference play, dominating the opposition in her fifth straight complete game appearance and third straight victory. The senior did not allow a base runner until the third inning, when she walked the Peacocks' Alina Guevara to lead off the frame, and did not give a hit until the bottom of the fifth. Overall, Brown tied her season-high with 10 strikeouts in 22 at-bats.
The Wagner bats followed suit in the third, as junior 
Karen Prihoda launched her fourth home run of the season, with sophomore 
Hannah Lewis aboard, to give the Seahawks a 2-0 lead.
The Green and White added four runs in the fifth on RBI doubles by Prihoda and senior 
Maite Reece, a sacrifice fly by sophomore 
Kaila Smith, and an RBI groundout by senior 
Stefanie Aplin.
Prihoda picked up her fourth RBI of the game in the sixth inning, driving in sophomore 
Christina Harkins on an RBI single to give Wagner a 7-0 advantage.
In the top of the seventh, senior 
Maddie Marable extended the lead even further, plating junior 
Lauren Serrato and Aplin with a two-run double.
Prihoda and Lewis led the Seahawks with three hits apiece, while sophomore 
Zoe Bender added two hits as part of Wagner's 12-hit onslaught. 
Game 2 – Wagner 9, Saint Peter's 6
In the second game of the afternoon, the teams combined for 15 runs on 19 hits in a back-and-forth affair that featured three lead changes.
Wagner started strong in the top of the first with a sacrifice fly by Reece, followed by RBI singles from junior 
Jessica Carlucci and Harkins, which staked the Seahawks to an early 3-0 advantage.
The Peacocks counted by pushing across four unanswered runs, two in the first and two more in the third, to take a 4-3 lead.
The Green and White then answered with three runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Reece, which scored Prihoda and Lewis, as well as an RBI walk to Aplin, in regaining the lead at 6-4.
Saint Peter's did not go away quietly, tying the game at 6-6 in the bottom half of the fourth before Wagner struck again in the sixth. With the bases loaded, Aplin's third hit of the contest scored Prihoda as the Seahawks retook the lead. Next up, a two-run single by Carlucci plated both Smith and Bender, putting Wagner ahead by a 9-6 count.
Sophomore 
Amelia Van Orman started the game, allowing four runs on six hits in four innings, before giving way to freshman 
Arielle Koerber, who earned the victory in relief, allowing no runs and just two hits in three innings of work.
The Peacocks had a 10-9 advantage in hits, with Aplin leading the way for Wagner with three hits, while Reece and Carlucci picked up three RBIs apiece.
Wagner is right back at it tomorrow when the Seahawks return to Grymes Hill to host Rider in another mid-week doubleheader, with game one's first pitch scheduled for 2:00 pm.
