Phil Capra connected on back-to-back home runs in the first while erupting for four more scores in the top of the fifth. Virginia Tech scored 13 runs over the first three frames in picking up an 18-7 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Melching Field, the home of the Stetson University baseball team.
With the setback, the Seahawks fall to 3-7 on the season while the Hokies improves to 5-7.

Tyler Sanfillippo recorded his first career hit in a Wagner uniform this afternoon.
Pat Gallagher made his second career start, lasting just two innings while giving up ten runs (nine earned) while walking two and striking out three. Freshman
Nick LePre, who made his third appearance out of the bullpen, pitched the final 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits while striking out three and walking one.
Virginia Tech batted around three times in today's contest, plating five runs each time. Sam Fragale connected on a three-run home run in the bottom of the first and tacked on three runs in the second before scoring five more in the bottom of the third.
The Seahawks put up a four-spot in the top of the fifth as Capra delivered a double to left center field, scoring Mazzio and Mascelli. The next batter, Sabido, rocketed a two-run shot over the right field as the Seahawks trailed 13-6 at this point.
VT added five more in the bottom of the inning that sealed the victory for the Hokies.
The Seahawks conclude its six-day, five-game Florida trip as they take on the Stetson University Hatters at 6:30 p.m.
