Staten Island, NY – Sarah Martin and Dakotah Savitcheff scored five goals apiece to lead the Albany women's lacrosse team to a 19-5 victory over Wagner this afternoon under sunny skies at wind-swept Hameline Field.

With the win, Albany, which lost by one goal at No. 5 Syracuse earlier in the season, evens its season record at 3-3 while the defending Northeast Conference (NEC) champion Seahawks fall to 0-5.

The Great Danes raced out to a 9-3 halftime lead and opened the second half on a 7-0 run to make it a 16-3 game en route to the 19-5 win.

Junior midfielder Lauren Ednie (Verona, NJ / Verona) paced the Seahawks offensively with three goals, sophomore attacker Marjorie Dehm (Baldwinsville, NY / C.W. Baker) and junior attacker Heidi Colford (Eden Praire, MN /  Eden Praire) added one goal apiece, while sophomore attacker Anna Belle Reilly (Paradise Valley, AZ / Paradise Valley) had one assist.

In addition to her hat trick, Ednie was also the Seahawks' team-leader in groundballs and caused turnovers with five and three, respectively, while Dehm paced the team with three draw controls.

Wagner is next in action on Monday, March 13 when the Seahawks kick off spring break with a Noon contest vs. Saint Mary's (CA).
