Houston, TX – While millions of people from around the globe will be entertained by tuning into Super Bowl LI this Sunday, Keith Carter will be hard at work trying to win another championship.
Three years ago, Carter, the current Assistant Offensive Line Coach with the Atlanta Falcons, Carter was a member of the Seattle Seahawks, serving as a Quality Control Assistant during their run to Super Bowl XLVIII at the Meadowlands, where they defeated the Denver Broncos, 43-8.
Carter, who roamed the sidelines as the tight ends coach at Wagner under
Walt Hameline during the 2006 season, is in his second year with the Falcons, who square off against the New England Patriots in professional football's ultimate game on Sunday.
Atlanta finished the 2016 regular season with an 11-5 record, winning the NFC South Division, and earning the conference's No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The Falcons defeated Seattle 36-20 in the Division Round before running past fourth-seeded Green Bay, who upset top-seed Dallas the previous week, by a 44-21 count in the NFC Championship game.

Jason Houghtaling, who was the running backs coach on the Seahawks' 2006 staff. "I couldn't be happier for him and his wife, Kristin. Keith and I roomed together for about a year and a half, and a friendship emerged that goes beyond xs and os.
"I remember him using an expression 'iron sharpens iron,' and that's Keith," Houghtaling continued. "He's a tough, hard-nosed football coach and we believe in the same things as far as hard work and discipline. We keep close tabs on each other's teams and speak every weekend. As I said, I couldn't be happier for him and will be rooting hard for the Falcons on Sunday."
A 2005 graduate of UCLA, Carter played for Bruins from 2001-05 at both tight end and halfback. The Downington, PA native was an integral part of the UCLA offense, playing in the Silicon Valley Bowl his junior season of 2003, and the Las Vegas Bowl during his senior season of 2004.
After receiving a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Wagner in 2007, Carter returned to the West Coast where he spent three seasons at the University of San Diego, coached the tight ends from 2009 to 2010, before spending time tutoring the Toreros' offensive line in 2011.
The 2012 football season marked Carter's first in the NFL, as he began a two-year stint with Seattle. After serving as offensive line/running games coach at San Jose State University in 2014, Carter returned to the NFL in his current role with the Falcons.
Carter is a native of Downington, PA, and the grandson of Pro Football Hall of Famer, Gino Marchetti, who played for the Baltimore Colts in the 1950's and 1960's.
