- Francis paced the Seahawks with 19 points, scoring 14 in the second half. Senior guard JoJo Cooper added 16 points, to go with a game-high eight assists, while freshman forward Nigel Jackson tossed in a career-high 14, highlighted by a 4-of-5 shooting night from three-point range. Junior guard Devin Liggeons finished with seven points, while redshirt junior forward AJ Sumbry added six points and a team-high ten rebounds, matching his career-high. Davis netted five points while pulling down nine caroms.
- After Fairfield sank four consecutive free throws, the latter two by Nelson with eight seconds to go, the Stags were within one at 76-75. Blake was fouled with three seconds left and made them both, making it a 78-75 game. Blake then fouled Nelson in preventing Fairfield from getting off a potential game-tying three-pointer.
- After Nelson sank the first free throw to make it 78-76, the Stags called a timeout to set up what would be Nelson's intentionally-missed second try from the line. Fairfield was hoping to snare an offensive rebound and score a game-tying bucket. Instead, Jackson squeezed the rebound for Wagner and was fouled with one tick left. The freshman then missed a pair from the line but the Stags were unable to get off a length of the court three as the Seahawks held on for the win.
