Vedika Anand (New Delhi, India/The Shri Ram School) along with senior
Samantha Hodges (Encinitas, CA/San Dieguito Academy) represented the Wagner women's tennis program at the 2017 ITA Northeast Regionals, held on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
In the Round of 128, Anand dropped a 6-0; 7-5 decision to UMass Lowell River Hawk, Janja Kovacevic. In the consolation bracket, Anand fell to Boston University's Sabrina Faybyshev, 6-1; 6-2. Hodges dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Fordham's Tatiana Grigoryan.
Both were paired up in doubles action against Anna Savchenko and Tanja Stojanovska of the University at Buffalo. Anand/Hodges were shutout, 8-0.
Anand/Hodges and the rest of the Seahawks close out the fall schedule on Saturday, October 28, when they host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference members, Siena. The match is set to begin at 10:45 a.m. at the Wagner Tennis Courts.
