Jess Lundgren set the Wagner (19-9, 4-0) women's water polo career goal record with her 374th goal to surpass Billy Hoelck's mark of 373 as she led the Seahawks to two victories this afternoon. The Green & White defeated St. Francis Brooklyn 20-7 and Iona by the score of 17-9 on the second weekend of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

Wagner started the game on a 9-0 run that stretched into the second quarter. Lundgren struck home for four scores with Doerfler adding three scores during the run. Sophomores
Elise Begg (Newbury Park, CA/ Newbury) and
Kimberly Watson (Pointe-Claire, Quebec/ John Rennie) tallied a goal apiece during the offensive explosion. The Seahawks would lead the Terriers by a count of 14-3 at the half. Lundgren hit home for four more scores during the second quarter to bring her game total to eight while freshman
Erica Hardy (Montreal, Quebec/ St. Thomas) entered the scoring column for the day.
The Green & White would outscore the Terriers by a mark of 6-4 in the second half. Doerfler tallied two scores in the third period to increase her goal total to five. Sophomore
Lacey Anderson (Thousand Oaks, CA/ Westlake), freshman
Natalie Kayton (Agoura, CA/ Agoura) and junior
Amanda Sutherland (Denton, TX/ Denton Ryan) all found the back of the net in the second half.
The Seahawks would win by a final tally of 20-7 as junior goalie
Emily Riddle (Edmonton, Alberta/ Dr. E.P. Scarlett) recorded five saves.
Wagner 17 Iona 9 (Score Sheet)Wagner's offense once again was firing early as the Seahawks totaled six goals in the opening stanza. Iona opened the scoring however as Rebecca Mathews tallied the first goal of the game before Watson would strike home for the Green & White. Lundgren would fire home twice in the first quarter with Begg, Anderson and Doerfler each scoring a goal piece. The Seahawks would hold a 6-2 advantage after completion of the first quarter.
Iona would edge Wagner 4-3 in second period goals as the Seahawks would lead by the count of 9-5 at the half. Begg tallied twice in the second quarter to give her a hat trick for the game with Anderson hitting home once.
Riddle was big in the net for Wagner as she registered six blocks in the contest to lead a Seahawks defense which only allowed three goals against them in the second half.
The Green & White totaled eight second half goals as Lundgren recorded two scores. The last of which came with 1:18 remaining in the game to make her the Wagner women's water polo all-time career goals leader with 374.
Anderson also tallied twice in the second with Watson, Doerfler and Rodriguez each scoring once in the half.
The Seahawks are back in action April 9 against Marist.
