New Rochelle, NY – The #20 Wagner (23-9, 8-0) women's water polo team bested Iona 9-6 and Siena by a score of 17-5 to remain unbeaten in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.

Elise Begg (Newbury Park, CA/ Newbury) who delivered the first score of the contest. Begg would later finish a second opportunity in the quarter with fellow sophomore
Lacey Anderson (Thousand Oaks, CA/ Westlake) also finding the back of the net in the period.
Rodriguez fired home a strike on a man-up opportunity less than two minutes into the second quarter to extend the Seahawk lead to 4-0. Iona would respond with a man-up score of their own before converting on a penalty shot. Senior
Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia/ Mountain Creek) entered the scoring column in the second with a strike of her own to bring the score to 5-2 in favor of the Green & White.
Wagner's defense strangled the Gaels offensive attack during third period play, holding Iona scoreless. The Seahawks would convert on two scoring opportunities with freshman
Erica Hardy (Montreal, Quebec/ St. Thomas) and senior
Lily Doerfler (Annapolis, MD/ Broadneck) scoring.
Iona would hit home on four goals in the final quarter as Lundgren struck home two goals to bring the final to 9-6 in favor of Wagner. Junior goalie
Emily Riddle (Edmonton, Alberta/ Dr. E.P. Scarlett) was key in net as she recorded nine saves.
Wagner 17 Siena 5 (Score Sheet)The Seahawks offense got off to a hot start scoring seven goals in the first half of action to claim a 7-2 lead at the half. Doerfler was a force in the middle delivering on four strikes with Lundgren, Begg and Rodriguez each tallying one goal.
Wagner's offensive run continued in the third quarter as the Seahawks finished on five more scoring opportunities. Lundgren finished on three shots including a two separate counter strike scores while also setting up Rodriguez for a goal. Hardy also recorded a score in the quarter as she hit home on a pass from Doerfler.
The Seahawks converted on five more shots in the final frame to secure a 17-5 victory. Begg, Hardy, and Doerfler each added scores in the period with sophomore
