Staten Island, NY - The 2016 Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season concludes Saturday as the newly-crowned regular season champion Seahawks welcome defending NEC Tournament champions Robert Morris to the Spiro Sports Center. Prior to the start of the contest, Wagner will recognize its two seniors on Senior Day in
Henry Brooks and
Dwaun Anderson.
The Green & White earned their second-ever regular season crown as they defeated the Saint Francis U Red Flash, 64-59, on Thursday evening. In doing so, the Seahawks have secured homecourt advantage throughout the NEC Tourney, which commences with quarterfinal play on Wednesday, March 2.

INSIDE THE SERIES:
- Saturday afternoon's contest is the 67th all-time meeting between Wagner and Robert Morris with the Colonials holding a 41-26 edge in the head-to-head series.
Back on January 4, Wagner earned a gritty, gutty 72-69 Northeast Conference (NEC) win at the defending champion Robert Morris. - For Wagner, the victory at the Charles L. Sewall Center snapped a 12-game losing streak in Moon Township with the last victory occurring back on March 3, 2005, in the NEC Tournament, a 69-65 Wagner win.
- Sophomore guard Romone Saunders (Temple Hills, MD/Potomac [Mt. Zion Prep]) led the team in scoring with a season-best 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field off the bench, which included a 3-of-5 performance from long range.
SCOUTING THE ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY COLONIALS:
- The Colonials have already clinched an NEC Tournament berth and depending on the outcomes of all five NEC finals; the Colonials will either be the No. 7 seed or No. 8 seed in the tournament. RMU traveled to Sacred Heart on Thursday evening and left the William H. Pitt Center with a 73-63 victory.
- In that contest, four Colonials finished in double-figures, led by Rodney Pryor's game-high 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting while converting 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. in 33 minutes of play.
- Billy Gates chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds while Isaiah Still and Kavon Stewart ended with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
- The defending NEC champions are looking to even out the regular season meeting with Wagner this afternoon after the Seahawks took the first matchup in Moon Township on January 4 (72-69).
UP NEXT FOR WAGNER:
- As the No. 1 seed, the Seahawks have secured homecourt advantage throughout the NEC Tourney, which commences with quarterfinal play on Wednesday, March 2, followed by the semifinal round on Saturday, March 5. Two men's quarterfinal game will air on MSG and FCS. Both men's semifinal games will be televised on MSG+ and FCS.
- The championship match, to be televised by ESPN2, will be contested on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. For the 12th straight year, the NEC Men's Basketball Tournament will consist of an eight-team playoff format with all games played at the home of the higher seed. After the quarterfinals, the teams will be reseeded, so the highest remaining seed plays the lowest remaining seed in the semifinals.

THE (MICHAEL) CAREY SHOW:- Junior guard Michael Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Lamar Consolidated [San Jacinto College]) has a team-leading 12 double-doubles on the season, the last coming on February 11 when he went for 11 points and 11 rebounds against Saint Francis U on Thursday evening.
THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME:- The Seahawks have the most home wins in the Northeast Conference (NEC) and best record at 10-3 this season.
- Sophomore guard Corey Henson is pouring in 15.7 ppg in 13 games at the Spiro Sports Center this season while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 39.0 percent from three-point range in 31.1 minutes a contest.
- Junior guard Michael Carey is averaging a double-double at home this season, recording 12.6 ppg and 10.3 rpg in 13 games, ten of which he has started. The Nassau, Bahamas native is shooting 48.3 percent from the field.
- Under fourth-year head coach, Bashir Mason, the Seahawks are 39-14 at the Spiro Sports Center.
- In home-NEC games this season, Wagner is 5-3 while outscoring its opponents by a +7.1 margin.
- All-time, Wagner is 150-79 since the Spiro Sports Center opened on February 20, 1999, in which the Seahawks played Fairleigh Dickinson to a 78-56 victory.
