Lowell, MA – After stunning the college basketball world with a 67-58 victory over the No. 18|16 UConn Huskies on Friday night, the Wagner men's basketball team will look for its second win of the young season as the Seahawks travel to America East members, the UMass Lowell River Hawks.

Monday's contest will be streamed on ESPN3 on the WatchESPN app.

Series History: Monday's matchup marks just the second all-time head-to-head battle between the Seahawks and the River Hawks, with Wagner taking last season's contest, 76-62, at the Spiro Sports Center back on December 30.

All-Time Against The America East: Wagner is 17-14 all-time against the current members of the America East Conference.  Albany (5-1); Maine (2-1); New Hampshire (0-1); Stony Brook (5-2); UMass Lowell (1-0); UMBC (3-6) and Vermont (2-3). The only two teams that the Seahawks haven't faced are Binghamton and Hartford.

Common Foes: Wagner and UMass Lowell have four common opponents on the 2016-17 ledger. The River Hawks have  already squared off against Massachusetts, who the Seahawks will see on November 30. The River Hawks will also take on Northeast Conference (NEC) members LIU Brooklyn (Nov. 26), Sacred Heart (Dec. 6) and Central Connecticut (Dec. 18) while the Green & White will await those three opponents league play.

Seahawks Flying On Opening Night: In Friday's upset win at UConn, several Seahawks had impressive performances on opening night. Junior guard Romone Saunders (Temple Hills, MD/Potomac [Mt. Zion Prep] and redshirt senior forward Mike Aaman (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan [University of Rhode Island]), tallied 15 points apice, with Aaman grabbing a team-leading nine rebounds in the victory.  Saunders went 5-of-11 from the field and converted on 3-of-7 from beyond-the-arc before exiting the game with an apparent injury.

Despite a tough shooting night, senior guard Michael Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Lamar Consolidated [San Jacinto College]) corralled six rebounds and swiped a career-high four steals in the victory.  Redshirt junior forward Marquis Salmon (Lancaster, CA/Village Christian [East Los Angeles Community College]) logged 22 minutes, knocked down a key three-pointer in the second half, and grabbed a career-high five caroms in his first start for the Green & White.  Sophomore guard Devin Liggeons (Philadelphia, PA/Imhotep Charter) netted a career-high eight points off the bench which included a perfect 5-for-5 night from the charity stripe, which included converting on three freebies after being fouled beyond the three-point line.

Scouting UMass Lowell: The River Hawks dropped their season-opener, 90-76, at in-state rival, Massachusetts on Friday. Three UML players finished in double-figures, led by Matt Harris' team-leading 16 points. Jahad Thomas had 15 points while pulling down eight rebounds while Stefan Borovac had ten points in his first game as River Hawk.

Up Next For Wagner:  Wagner returns to Grymes Hill, as the Seahawks get set to host the Fairfield University Stags in the home opener on Saturday, November 19. Tip-off from the Spiro Sports Center is slated for 4:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on NEC Front Row (www.necfrontrow.com), the official online network of the Northeast Conference and Wagner Athletics.
