Fairfield, CT – Wagner's women's soccer team suffered its first Northeast Conference (NEC) loss of the season on Friday afternoon, as the Seahawks fell 4-0 to Sacred Heart at Campus Field.

Freshman forward Autumn Clark (Fort Lauderdale, FL / Pine Crest Prep) led the Seahawks with two shots in the first period and three attempts overall while the hosts took a 3-0 halftime lead on goals by Lindsay Corallo, Caitlin Buckley and Danielle Karpiej.

In the second period, the Green and White developed more scoring chances, but Clark, senior Taylor Sackaris (St. James, NY / Smithtown East), and freshman Anika Ignozzi (Lower Burrell, PA / Burrell) saw their attempts saved by the Pioneers' goalkeeper Nicole Sambuco. In the 89th minute, Sacred Heart's Alyssa Hyland scored to make it 4-0 in favor of the Pioneers, which proved to be the final score of the game.

Sophomore Katie Viscardi (Hazlet, NJ / Mater Dei Prep) had four saves in net, while senior Katelyn Murphy (Metuchen, NJ / Metuchen) recorded two stops in 22 minutes of relief.

Wagner will take on Fairleigh Dickinson this Sunday afternoon, October 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Hameline Field in its first NEC home contest of the season,
