Box Score (PDF) I Box Score (HTML) Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's soccer team fell to Hartford 1-0 at Hameline Field this afternoon. With the loss, Wagner moves to 1-7-1 on the season while the Hawks improve to 6-1-1.
Hartford came out strong, getting on the board first in the second minute of the match. Junior Caroline Massey got up front in the box during a scramble and got a shot off of a rebound low to the right side of the net, her third goal of the season.
Wagner found more opportunities in the second half, putting up six shots, three of which were on goal, but each was saved by junior Jessica Jurg. Seahawk junior midfielder
Amber Coca (Riverview, FL / Bloomingdale) took a corner kick in the 57th minute, junior midfielder
Gabrielle Davis (Freehold, NJ / Freehold Township) got to it first and had a nice opportunity with a header on net but the ball landed in the in arms of goalkeeper Jurg.

Kaitlin Flaherty (Southfield, MI / Wylie Groves) played all 90 minutes between the pipes, recording five saves, while Jorg, who also played the entire match, posted four saves.
The Seahawks return to action for the final non-conference matchup of the season at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 27 when they host Cornell.
