Staten Island, NY – Behind a complete team performance, the Wagner men's tennis team remained unbeaten as the Seahawks defeated their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) counterparts, the Siena College Saints, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon from the Wagner Tennis Courts.

Wagner improves to 4-0 in the fall as Siena stands at 0-2.

"Today was a full team effort and everyone contributed," stated first-year head coach Jason Sinkoff. "We still have a lot of work ahead of us as we are scheduled to compete in the Hofstra and Quinnipiac University Invitational over the next two weekends but it is nice to see that every match we are getting better and better.  Today was one of our best all-around performances."

The Seahawks notched the first point of the match by sweeping all three doubles matches.  For the first time this season, freshman Lucas Lu (Boca Raton, FL/Boca Prep International School) and sophomore Jakob Mostyn-Kolb (Melbourne, FL/Melbourne) were paired up in No. 1 doubles as they defeated the duo of Alexander Reed and Peter Galante, 6-1.  The freshmen duo of Dale Sandy (Durban, South Africa/Kersney College Secondary School) and Eric Poland (Fort Meyers, FL/Bishop Verot) improve to 3-0 out of the No. 2 position as they picked up a 6-2 decision against Alessandro Saglia and Diego Lebron.  Sophomore Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) and freshman Ilya Kneppelhout (Woubrugge, Netherlands/Scala College Secondary School) completed the sweep with 6-2 win over Evan Nierman and Jace Koretz.

The Green & White swept all six singles matches as three freshmen (Poland, Lu, and Sandy) each picked up decisive victories.  Boyd improved to 4-0 this season and picked up his 22nd career singles victory in the process after edging Koretz, 6-1; 6-4.

The Seahawks will compete in the three-day Hofstra University Invitational, beginning on September 25.
