Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's tennis team dropped its Northeast Conference (NEC) contest against the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon.

The Seahawks picked up a victory via default in #3 doubles as the pairing of freshman Samantha Hodges (Encinitas, CA/San Dieguito Academy) and senior Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East).

Freshman Carolyn Gibson (Winderemere, FL/IMG Academy) was the lone Seahawk to record a victory by way of default as the Blackbirds took the doubles point and five of the six singles matches on the afternoon.

Wagner returns to the courts on April 3 as they are scheduled to take on Coppin State.
