Women's Tennis Five-Match Unbeaten Streak Halted By Drexel University on Sunday Afternoon

Philadelphia, PA- The Wagner women's tennis five match unbeaten streak was snapped on Sunday morning as they fell to the Drexel University Dragons, 7-0. With the loss, the Seahawks now stand at 5-2 on the season while the Dragons improve to 11-1 on the season.
 
The Dragons secured all three matches in doubles competition to pick up the matches overall first point as the tandem of junior Marina Rull Valvieso (Barcelona, Spain/IES Antony Cumella [Tarleton State]) and sophomore Madison Pautsch (Costa Mesa, CA/Edison) suffered their first defeat in the #1 Flight Doubles position on the season, falling to the combo of Nicole Pivonka and Clary Rodriguez Cruz, 6-3. 
 
Junior Jenna Harris (Fountain Hills, AZ/Fountain Hills) nearly escaped with the victory in the Flight #6 position, as she was edged by Jennifer White, 6-2; 6-4.
 
The women's tennis team returns to action on March 22nd as they travel to New Britain, Connecticut to square off against Northeast Conference (NEC) foe, Sacred Heart University.
