Staten Island, NY- The Wagner women's tennis team were edged in a tightly contested match on Sunday falling to America East member, University of Hartford, 4-3, at the Wagner Tennis Courts.

The Seahawks (5-5; 2-2 NEC)  picked up an 8-1 victory at #3 Doubles as freshman Samantha Hodges (Encinitas, CA/San Dieguito Academcy) and teammate senior Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downington, PA/Downington East) over their counterparts,  Hannah Goldman and Gianna Sabino.

Junior Marina Rull Valvieso (Barcelona, Spain/ IES Antony Cumella [Tarleton State] improves to 7-2 in dual matches as she defeated Katherine Long, 6-2; 6-3. Hodges defeated Hartford's Emily Sneddon, 5-7; 6-4; 6-2 while junior Jenna Harris (Fountain Hills, AZ/Fountain Hills) picked up a 6-2; 7-5 decision at #5 singles against Madeline Makings. 

The Seahawks will welcome former Northeast Conference (NEC) members, Monmouth University to Staten Island on April 1^st with a start time of 3:00 pm.
