Seahawks Falls In Conference Action Against Sacred Heart

The Wagner College Seahawks women's tennis team fell to Northeast Conference rival, Sacred Heart, on Sunday, 7-0. With the loss, Wagner suffers its first conference loss (2-1) while faltering to 5-3 overall on the season while the Pioneers improve to 4-5; and 1-1 in conference play. 

Freshman Samantha Hodges (Encinitas, CA/San Dieguito Academy) nearly forced a third set against Paige Olson in #2 Flight singles, falling 6-1; 6-4.

In #4 singles action, senior Rachel Jurgielewicz (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) also nearly forced a third set in her match against Taylor Gurda.

The Seahawks will be back in action on March 27th as they travel to Emmistburg, Maryland for another conference tilt, as they take on Mount St. Mary's.
