Staten Island, NY - For the first time in 16 years, Wagner will meet its Staten Island neighbor, the College of Staten Island (CSI), when the teams meet in a 4:00 p.m. tip-off at the Spiro Sports Center. This will mark the 15th all-time meeting between the Seahawks, who elevated from Division II to Division I prior to the 1976-1977 season, and the Dolphins, who compete in Division III. Wagner holds an 11-3 lead in the 14 head-to-head matchups. These schools faced one another for the first time on the hardwood back on December 23, 1978, with the Seahawks coming away with a 79-67 victory. This contest kicked off a string of 12 consecutive seasons the teams squared off, through the 1989-90 campaign.
Following a six-year hiatus, the series resumed with games in 1997-98 and 1999-00.
The most recent meeting between these intra-borough schools, who are separated by just 3.9 miles of real estate, took place on November 23, 1999 when the Green & White earned a 95-55 win.

- In CSI's and Wagner first-ever meeting, which occurred back on December 23, 1978, it marked Wagner's third season as a Division I program and was guided by former head coach and athletic director, Wagner Hall of Famer, PJ Carlesimo.
- The Seahawks ultimately finished the 1978-79 season with a 21-7 record en route to a Postseason National Invitational Tournament (NIT) appearance.
LAST TIME OUT FOR WAGNER:- In its first home game of the 2015-16 season, the Wagner men's basketball team treated the hometown faithful to an 87-73 victory over the University of Maine Black Bears on Saturday afternoon at the Spiro Sports Center.
- Sophomore guard Corey Henson (Upper Marlboro, MD/DeMatha Catholic) continued his torrid stretch, pouring in a career-high 24 points, with 17 of those coming in the second half of play. The Upper Marlboro, MD native also dished out a career-high seven assists while going a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe in his 34 minutes of action.
- In addition to Henson, two other Seahawks ended the game in double figures as redshirt senior guard Dwaun Anderson (Suttons Bay, MI/Suttons Bay [Michigan State]) added a career-high 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting while pulling down seven rebounds in 22 minutes of action. Junior guard Michael Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Lamar Consolidated [San Jacinto College]) also contributed a career high, with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, to go along with seven rebounds off the bench.
- With the game tied at 56 six minutes into the second half, Wagner went on an 11-0 run and never looked back.
- Over a three-minute span, the Seahawk defense held Maine to just one shot attempt while forcing two turnovers, while Wagner was able to capitalize on 4-of-9, shooting, highlighted by three-pointers from Henson and Kadji, in building a 67-56 lead.
- Wagner then put the game out of reach behind a 20-to-7 run as the Seahawks extended the lead to 22, 87-65, before Maine ended the game by scoring eight straight points in narrowing the final deficit to 14.
SCOUTING COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND DOLPHINS:- The Dolphins enter play with a 3-1 record after earning its first CUNYAC win of the season, defeating Hunter College, 90-78, at the Hunter Sportsplex on Tuesday evening.
- Frank Schettino is the team's leading scorer at 28.7 ppg and leading distributor, averaging 3.3 assists per game.
- Will Fonseca, who is the team's secondleading scorer at 19.3 per game, paces the Dolphins on the boards, pulling down 8.5 per contest.
LAST TIME OUT FOR COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND: - Five Dolphins scored in double-figures, led by reigning CUNYAC Player of the Year, Will Fonseca, who dropped 24 points on 8-of-20 shooting from the field and 7-of-9 accuracy from the charity stripe in 36 minutes of play. In addition, Fonseca recorded a double-double after pulling down 14 caroms in the victory, 11 of which came off the defensive glass, while dishing out four helpers as well.
- Edin Bracic added 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including a blistering 5-of-8 from three-point range in 31 minutes of action. Vincent Dacunto chipped in with 15 points (4-of-5 FG, 3-of-3 3PT FG%) while Khari Rollock and Thomas Delahanty added 11 and 10 points, respectively, while combining for eight assists and 14 rebounds.
- At the recent Worcester Polytechnic Institute Tournament (WPI), the Dolphins edged Colby College, 98-92, in overtime thanks to a 43-point outburst from Frank Schettino.
SERIES HISTORY:- Saturday's contest is the 15th all-time meeting between the two schools with Wagner leading the head-to-head series, 11-to-3.
- The Seahawks enter Saturday's contest against the Dolphins riding a three-game win streak, after taking the last meeting, 95-55, back on Nov. 23, 1999.
- The College of Staten Island was last victorious over Wagner back on Feb. 13, 1989, when they left Grymes Hill with an 81-78 win.

MASON GOES FOR CAREER VICTORY NO. 50: - After his Seahawks picked up its first win of the 2015-16 season, fourth-year head coach Bashir Mason will have his first chance at career victory No. 50 against the CSI Dolphins.
- Entering this afternoon's contest, Mason holds a 49-46 all-time career record.

SEAHAWKS SWIPING SPREE:- With an emphasis on defense, the Wagner men's basketball team currently ranks first in the conference in steals per game, averaging 9.7 pilfers per contest, which also ranked 23rd nationally.
307 GAMES OF THREES: - The Wagner men's basketball team has made at least one three-pointer in 307 straight games.
- The last time the Seahawks did not convert a single three-pointer was back on February 28, 2004 at home against NEC rival, Mount St. Mary's, when the Green & White went 0-of-13 from beyond the arc.
THE CORE OF THE OFFENSE:- Sophomore guard Corey Henson (Upper Marlboro, MD/DeMatha Catholic) has opened the season by posting three consecutive double-figure scoring games.
- On opening night at Big East member St. John's on November 13, the second-year guard, who started his first game at the point, caught fire, finishing the first half with 11 points, on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor. For the night, Henson shot a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc en route to finishing the contest with a team-high 16 points.
- For an encore, when the Seahawks played their second straight Big East opponent in Seton Hall on November and Henson again led the way for the Green & White with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field, which included a 3-of-7 effort from long range.
- In the home opener against Maine on Saturday, November 21, Henson went for a career-best 24 points, 17 of which coming in the second half of play.
- At 19.0 ppg., Henson is tied for 11th nationally in scoring average (among 978 sophomores in Division I), with Emmett Naar of Saint Mary's (CA) and Sacramento State's Marcus Graves.
WELCOME BACK, MR. ANDERSON:- Redshirt senior guard Dwaun Anderson (Suttons Bay, MI/Suttons Bay [Michigan State]), through three games, has come back from injury to help spearhead the Seahawk offense.
- In the season opener at St. John's on November 13, the former Mr. Basketball of Michigan, recorded his first career "double-double," finishing the contest with 11 points and a new career-high of 13 rebounds, surpassing his previous high of eight, set back on February 27, 2014, against fellow NEC-member, Saint Francis U.
- In the home opener against America East member, Maine, Anderson was one of three Seahawks to finish in double-figures as the athletic 6-4 guard tossed in a career-high 15 points on an efficient 6-of-12 shooting from the floor in 22 minutes of play.
- Anderson is averaging 12.3 ppg and 7.3 rebounds per contest and out of 25 seniors in the conference, he ranks fifth in scoring and tied with Saint Francis U's Ronnie Drinnon third in rebounding.
GUARD PLAY:- The seven guards at fourth-year head coach Bashir Mason's disposal this season have accounted for 63.0 percent of the team's total minutes this season.
- In addition, the guards have combined to contribute 67.5 percent of the team's total points this season so far through the first three games.
- Sophomore guard Corey Henson leads the squad, accounting for 15.83 percent of the team's minutes and scoring 28.08 percent of the team's points this year.
